Is my money actually safe?

eToro is multi-regulated (FCA, ASIC, CySEC). Your funds are kept in segregated accounts at top-tier banks, meaning eToro cannot use your money for its own business expenses.

I've heard there are hidden fees.

eToro offers 0% commission for their Copy Trader. They are transparent about their flat $5 withdrawal fee and small currency conversion spreads. No management or ticketing fees. Fees for individual stocks and CFDs vary depending on location.

What if eToro goes bust?

Eligible users are protected by Investor Compensation Schemes (up to £85k in UK / €20k in EU). Plus, eToro provides additional private insurance up to €1M for higher-tier members.

Is it just a 'crypto' or 'CFD' casino?

When you open a non-leveraged BUY position on a stock, you are buying the underlying asset. eToro holds it in your name. You even get paid dividends!

The verification (KYC) takes too long.

eToro uses automated tech to verify most accounts in under 24 hours. Tip: Use a clear passport photo and a digital bank statement for instant proof of address.

Can I get my money back out easily?

Withdrawals are processed back to your original payment method. Most transfers take 1–2 business days once the account is verified.

What if the person I'm copying fails?

You are always in control. You can set a Copy Stop-Loss (CSL). For example, if your copy value drops by 20%, the system automatically stops the copy and saves your remaining cash.
