In my late twenties, I was stuck. I was earning under £25k in London, trapped in a cycle of burnout, escaping reality through a heavy drinking culture, and constantly worrying that I’d missed my chance to build something meaningful.
The turning point wasn't glamorous. It was sitting in a pub on a cold Tuesday midday, staring at a glass, asking myself: "Is this really my life?"
The next day, I quit drinking cold turkey. Clearing the fog changed everything. It gave me the clarity to master my craft, take control of my career, and dive headfirst into the world of high-growth technology.
The Gift of Getting Fired: Pivoting Into High-Growth Tech
Over the last decade, I built a career on the front lines of technology recruitment. I spent ten years working alongside fast-scaling startups, watching brilliant founders build world-changing tools while helping them recruit top-tier talent in engineering, product, and design.
When the tech market crashed in 2022 and I was let go while away in Spain, it felt like a disaster. But it became my greatest lesson: never rely entirely on someone else's playbook.
I moved to Marbella, transitioned into contracting, pushed my income, and built true financial and location independence.
More importantly, it freed me to focus on what I was truly passionate about: frontier technology, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
Clearing the Hype: Building Media for Real Builders
During my decade in tech recruitment, I noticed a massive problem with mainstream tech media: it was full of sensational headlines, fluffy hype, and overwhelming jargon.
